This renowned resort, made of hamlets and clustered houses scattered through woods of oaks and chestnut trees, is surrounded by the mounts Sillara, Succiso and Caio.
In the 17th century Monchio became the capital of the land of the 13 courts, given by Charlemagne to the diocese of Parma.
Worth a visit is the church of St. Lorenzo and Michele erected in 1530.

65 Km from Parma. By car from Parma follow the road southbound to Langhirano and go on crossing Pastorello and in Corniglio turn left following the signs to Monchio or South ring road exit 15 Via Langhirano; by bus extra Tep line Parma-Monchio delle Corti.
