In Torrechiara you will meet Bianca Pellegrini, loved by Pier Maria Rossi, known as "il Magnifico". For this reason he built the Castle of Torrechiara as a fortress, a symbol of the Rossi's lands and a private home to live his love with Bianca. The elegant figure of Bianca is represented in the vaults and lunettes of the beautiful Camera d'oro, made for her in 1460, displayed among mountains, rivers and castles, in the splendid frescoes by Benedetto Bembo and other artists of great value. The Castle of Torrechiara, which dominates the Valparma and the surrounding hills where Parma Ham is made, was declared a National Monument in 1911 and since the following year it belongs to the State; it is open all year round and welcomes thousands of visitors.

The visit is in Italian, by request it is in English too.
