Description:

dating back to the end of 16th century and surrounded by a romantic park, villa Malenchini was built by the noble family Lampugnani.
Cesare Baglioni, who had worked at the Farnese court, was entrusted with the decorations of the vaults. In 1895 the noble woman Eletta Fortunata Raggio (1874-1963), known as Fortuny, wife of Luigi Malenchini, bought the villa and under the influence of Leinhart, the chief gardener of Marie Louise from Austria, he devoted himself to the creation of a huge romantic garden.

The park nowadays spreads over an area of 15 hectares and can boast oaks, hornbeams, ash trees, alders, chestnut trees and lime trees as well as imported ornamental trees such as plane trees, cedars and fir trees. Along the paths are a chapel, a neo-baroque nynphaeum and a serpentine lake.

How to get there:

from Parma by car, take the South ring road exit 15 Strada Langhirano and follow this road, in the village of Corcagnano turn left at the first traffic light. Villa Malenchini is on the left.
